Fast forward sixteen years, and we find Aldo on the very first day of his job as a village guard. So, what’s the story behind this intriguing title, and what on earth cats have to do with time travel? The protagonists of the game are siblings Aldo and Feinne, orphans of mysterious origin and yet-to-be-discovered powers which were found in forest and adopted by the kindhearted mayor of sleepy little Barouki village. Is this Ogre Rancorem in Your Pocket or You’re Just Happy to see me? Last but not the least, this game developed by Wright Flyer Studios is an exclusive for Android, iOS and Nintendo Switch – a nice touch for the game of this quality and high production values, which will certainly make all users of these platforms feel pretty special. At the same time, this is a slick and modern JRPG with sweet visuals, truly bewitching musical score and refreshingly unobtrusive gacha elements that won’t put off those players who aren’t inclined to spit out extra cash on something basically advertised as a free-to-play game. Thanks to this fact, as far as the gameplay, combat system and visual identity, Another Eden confidently walks a beaten track known and cherished by all true JRPG aficionados. No wonder: this splendid space-time adventure is actually a work of legendary Japanese game designer Masato Kato (Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy VI, and Final Fantasy XI – to name just a few titles from his extravagantly rich portfolio) who once again teamed up with composer Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger) to create something truly special. It’s 1:30 AM and I just finished a neutral run that inspired me to make this.Website | Facebook | Reddit | Google | iOSĬhrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy VI, and XI…Īs hinted by the title, Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space isn’t just your generic, off-the-rack JRPG like the ones that are mass-produced every year. I can’t really find the right words at the moment like I thought I would. But I just wanted to express my love for a game that truly brings me joy every time I boot it. I struggled a bit playing characters outside of Saffron for awhile, but with time I’ve gotten so much better and again it’s the most rewarding feeling mastering these characters and figuring out what builds suit them best. I’m a launch day Switch player, and it’s been incredible to go from not being able to make it past Tier 2 characters to casually clearing runs in 30-50 mins. This game is incredibly rewarding to get good at. I feel like that’s the case for most RL games, and in the last 2 years I have never gotten tired of playing this one. The replay value is infinite for me personally. It actually does a lot of things I like better than the Battle Network games gameplay wise.

If it isn’t obvious by my username, I’m a really big Battle Network fan (and would have told you prior to this game BN2 is my favorite game,) and this is like the perfect love letter to the Battle Network series. I actually listen to Shiso’s theme a lot specifically outside of the game while I exercise. The characters are all great, the sprites are beautiful,I love a lot of the silly humor in the game, amazing gameplay, and The soundtrack is superb. I love absolutely everything about this game honestly. It’s been the perfect distraction for me whenever I need one. So much time passes without me realizing while I’m playing too. It’s hard to be stuck in my head when I’m focused on completing a run, seeing what builds work best for me, etc. If I feel myself getting anxious I actually grab my switch specifically to play this knowing it will help. More than other games that I usually just turn off when my headspace isn’t good. I have severe anxiety in general, and OSE has actually helps me a lot in the midst of anxiety/panic attacks. Despite the game being rather difficult, it’s always had a calming effect for me when I play it. That’s actually a big factor in why I love this game the way I do. It’s gotten me through some ROUGH times in the last couple of years being in the worst headspace because of life beating me relentlessly. First I just want to say how thankful I am for this game in general.
